PALACE COUP
CRYSTAL PALACE v Liverpool
Crystal Palace’s road to Wembley in 1990 took in one of the finest FA Cup semi-finals in memory. Three goals in the final ten minutes at Villa Park capped a pulsating second-half during which both teams held a lead, but the knockout blow was landed by Alan Pardew’s extra-time header. Out went the holders and champions elect, Liverpool, 7 months after they had humiliated Palace at Anfield to the tune of 9-0. A genuine Cup upset in a genuinely great cup tie.
