WORLD CHAMPIONS FOR A DAY – ENGLAND v SCOTLAND 1967
Scotland have played at the World Cup on 8 occasions but a victory over the World Cup winners in 1967 remains maybe the most memorable of all Tartan Army celebrations. The 3-2 win over Sir Alf Ramsey’s England team at Wembley was as stylish as it was symbolic, and the heroes of the triumph – Law, Baxter et al – are legends of the Scottish game to this day. For at least one glorious afternoon, the Scots felt champions of the world.
